Zaikin Park in Chisinau is an area, on which some of this year’s Forum guests, the Oberliht association, has been working for already some years. The park is a small patch of land, located in close proximity to the centre of Moldova’s capital. It is surrounded by diverse types of buildings, which house different functions.
This summer Oberliht organised another workshop with citizens in the park, at which they also invited architects from abroad. By the process of constructing different installations the participants in the workshop aim at establishing a community of active and involved citizens. Conceptualising the installations, their construction and further on their use created the conditions for intensive contact and sharing between the citizens who inhabit the areas adjacent to the park. This process increasingly transforms the Zaikin Park into a catalyser of citizen participation in Chisinau.
